PAFF Annual Spring Jamboree 2010

Paul, I think as we get closer and begin to get a "roll call" of those planning to attend, we can make a decision whether money will be saved by tapping a keg or two.

I drink any beer but Light and I don't mind if it is cheap, but not too cheap.

I might have a big coffee maker, I'll look for it and let you know. as for the beer, a keg is nice, less cans and bottles to dispose of, but it's a pain, someone has to pick it up, get the ice, tap, tub, then take it all back. doesn't matter to me though. I always carry some beer with me on trips, and I'll gladly pitch in for the keg if we get one.
one thing we do at motorcycle campouts, everyone who drinks brings a 6 or 12 pack( or case) and we put it all in a big tub with ice, that way folks can try many different beers.

I think there was a little more coffee consumed last year because it was 30 DEGREES OUTSIDE ON SUNDAY MORNING IN MAY!!! That may of had something to do with it. But I wouldn't be suprised to see more people this year. Lots of new names and faces on the board.

My plans are getting clearer, I have the whole week off as does a coworker, who's bringing his son. 10 day fishing trip planned. It's gonna be a blast and I'm looking forward to it.

Friday through Sunday we'll be at the jam, I'll have 2 guests for the duration, plus a 3rd (my wife) is possible for the Saturday night fire ring festivities and coffee Sunday morn. Probably won't fish Friday, getting in too late. Whether or not we'll fish Sunday morning we'll play by ear. Saturday is for sure a full fishing day. So Jay, Ryan, Dave, and whoever else is doing the brookie thing, it's gotta be Sat. for me. Not sure if my guests will be joining us on that outing, I kinda doubt it, they'll do their own thing and maybe meet us for an evening spinner fall.

Sunday through Friday we're heading for my camp in NW PA to do some serious brookie bustin and evenings on Oil or other large streams.

Friday through Monday (weekend following jam) isn't set yet but its likely we'll be back in the central PA area, fishing sulfurs and perhaps a shot at the drakes if they come early this year.

So it seems the "perfect" weekend for my wife to have her baby shower is the 22nd of May... She asked if I minded her having it then and me not being around. I'm so disapointed that I don't have to lug all those gifts into the house and actually show up for part of the shower........................

good planning ry did ya whisper that idea into her ear whaile she was sleepin? lol ill be at the jam most likely not until saturday morning just a bit before daylight if the jeep makes it through winter so far so good

Albatros, I'm always open for more creeks.

Well, I'm considering showing up, I could really use a good day of some beers and fly fishin'. i figure she's goin to Raystown by herself this Spring to some family thing I'll have to get away, being separated for a short period I'd gotton used to road trips, about the biggest I missed about the single life.

i'm new to the board well kinda new but i never attended a jam yet but i plan on attending this one for sure

Small taste of Spring Creek,

In last (future) March/April EASTERN Fly Fishing you can find Pennsylvania Trout Exposure section of Jack Hanrahan with a stunning photography from PA creeks and worth to read the article “Spring Creek, PA, You Owe Yourself the Opportunity” by Beau Beasley.

There would be enough space for jam's tents around the pavillion?

The name tags is a good idea.

Hey Tom, I took the time to make one for you.

IMO, name tags kill the fun of socializing with people whom you know, but are unable to identify.

Just a moment ago while looking at a calendar, I noticed there are 2 weeks between Mother's Day and Memorial Day. This improves the chances of me getting a week off for the Jam. Still too early to commit. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

For those reading this thread who have never been to a Jam, I highly recommend trying to attend, even if only the Sat. night "Fire Ring Literati and Musical Extravaganza!" ;-) More knowledge about fly fishing in Pa. than you can shake a rod at, all assembled conveniently in a friendly environment 🙂 😛int: 🙂 😛int: :-D

I am hopefully going to be there on Saturday. I live in Lewisburg, so it isn't a far drive from me. Looking forward to meeting everybody!!

Tony

If you can get the week off, I'll be up there from Wed. till probably Tuesday, thats if the weather and my health holds up, so you'll have some company. That goes for anyone coming early and staying till after Sunday.

I know Jack and his gang come early as does Maurice. Anyone else planning on being there more then the 3 days. I know it's early yet for some to made plans, just asking!

I should be at Hemlock from Thursday dark to Tuesday morning (fishing Tuesday but heading home).

depends on how my jobs are going then, but I'd like to extend the weekend a few days in one direction or the other, depending on weather.
