How's everyone doing? I've heard from quite a few people that their flies are in the mail and tomorrow I will be checking for them. Sorry I have been a little busy as Friday I connected with a nice buck and today I found out I have a Sinus infection and double pink eye....

My flies are almost done and I would just like to make sure everyone is all good! Thanks everyone for participating I am so happy this swap has turned into what it has. I will update the roster as flies come in.

Ties I am sending are a soft hackle version of tctrout's Chezch BH Prince Nymph on a jig hook. Also send along a dozen mini-buggers since I don't feel my ties are an even swap for the quality of the other tyers in this swap.

Both the Prince and the bugger are tied on Allen's JBL100 in size 14, both use a 2.4mm brass nickel black bead and several turns of .010 lead wire.
The Prince has peacock herl, goose biots and is counter-wrapped with fine copper wire. Hackle is from hen saddle.

Mini bugger uses the web feathers from 7" saddle hackle, fine black chenille and the smallest saddle hackle I could sort out.

I can vouch for the Prince Nymph as it got me a couple of trouts on Bowman's Creek Saturday. Nice way to break in a new rod.

I've been waiting on some materials as well. I have about half done, and will finish and ship em out this week.

Hook- sz 12 2xl.
Body- chocolate Antron dubbing
Thorax- same chocolate dubbing
Underwing- 1 strand folded into 4 loops
Wing- deer hair
Legs- silicone legs...color I used is called chestnut
Top Wing ?- 2mm brown craft foam with fl. Orange sighter

I use this pattern in black as well, but find the brown to produce better in clearer water.

Got my beads today and tied while watching MNF, good thing it went into OT and I was able to finish.

The Mohair Nymph:
Hook= partridge Czech nymph #12
Bead=copper tungsten 3.3mm
Lead= .015 wire 10 wraps
Body=Brown Canadian Mohair
Wing case=Wild turkey tail
Biots=White goose
Thread= Black 6/0

Add water and grab your net

So my confidence fly is pretty simple. CDC and Elk (Coastal deer hair actually, but Elk if ya want for larger sizes).

Simple tie, and easy to fish. This is one of the first dry flies I caught a trout on, and the first fly I tied myself and caught a fly on. It fishes well on slower water, give it a little "skitter" with the rod tip. It floats well on faster water, just drift it. Killer fly on little brookie streams.

If you're not used to CDC, DON'T use gel or paste floatant on it, use some Frog's Fanny or whatever powder you like.

I tied this in size 16 with tan CDC for the swap, but tie it in black in an 18-20 and its a pretty good late winter imitation of an early black stone. (If anyone has a burning need for some I'd be happy to pass on a few). In the heat of the summer, tie it a little larger.

Hook-Orvis Czech (Tactical) sz16 with a black nickel bead
Tail-Wood Duck
Rib- Silver Wire
Body- Olive Thread coated with Bondic to give a nice shimmer and protect the thread body
Wingcase- Wood Duck with a drop of Bondic on top to magnify te wingcase
Thorax-Choclate Hareline or Hares/Olive
Legs- Pearl Flashabou

Higas SOS
Hook-Sz16 tiemco scud hook/heavy wire with silver beadhead
Tail- Black Turkey feather tips
Rib-silver wire
Body- black UTC thread
Wingcase-red tinsel with a drop of Bondic on top
Thorax- Choclate dubbing
Legs- black flashabou

Scud
Hook- Straight Hook 14-16 Heavy wire
Tail- Olive Poly
Rib- gold wire
Back-Orange DMC Floss
Body- Hareline Olive (light)
Dubbing is then picked (Velcro) out some of the dubbing.
