I saw a squirrel caddis emerger pattern on the internet the other day, so I decided to try some.

Hook: size 14 and 16
Body: Fox squirrel dubbing
Rib: Pearl flashabou
Thorax: Red squirrel nymph thorax dubbing
Hackle: Woodcock wing feather

Experimenting with a black nosed dace pattern (aka redfin). Ran out of my 3D holographic eyes so I had the idea to use bright yellow nail polish with a black sharpie for the pupil, and coat the eyes in UV resin. I think it turned out okay. Mostly craft fur and some Krystal flash.

I’m thinking some kind of egg pattern based on all of the neon materials…

Impressive fly bench….makes me look like a rank amateur.😔
I was thinking mops, but your guess is better.

Eggs, eggs, eggs..... Just got on a total egg jag today. It felt kinda good to knock out about 150 flies in a mindless blink watching the compartments fill up....and not be contemplating stupid gills and legs on trout nymphs LOL 😂
Nuke eggs, Glo Bugs, Estaz Eggs, Egg Beaters, and a few crystal meth.
Figured out I could use my desk drawer as an egg yarn dispenser so that was kinda cool. 😎

I was in a Steelhead state of mind.

150 flies???? You are a tying machine!!!

Mayer’s Mini Leech in black and leech red. Went a little bit heavier with these, as I like to get them down.

Hook: #10 jig
Bead: 4mm slotted tungsten, silver or matte black
Thread: 8/0 black
Body flash: Krystal Flash (red or black)
Body flash covered in Loon UV flow for durability
Pine squirrel zonker strips in leech red or black
Ostrich herl collar (black)

Sat down tonight an tied a bunch of Blue Bottles (might try to sneak these in as a bonus fly to Kim's current fly swap - they meet the criteria and theme!)

Always consider this a fun pattern - I tie it a little more green than blue b/c I think it's a little more representative of the flies we see around here:

Hook: #14 Firehole 317
Eyes: Red glass bead (Medium)
Thread: Black 6/0
Body: Hareline Ice dub - UV Black w/peacock angel hair
Wings: Sparkle organza ribbon - Dun
Thorax: Hareline Ice dub - UV Black w/ a #10 peacock mylar wing case
Legs: Black dry fly hackle

Snake River Fly pattern called the Bull Whip Worm . Thinking the gills and crappies will like it once the ice comes off .

@poopdeck Adam's hackle stacker from a page or two ago left a lasting impression. So I'm back at that again. View attachment 1641234689
Nice! Your original first Hacklestacker post got me to try them since I never tied them before. I’m gonna keep working on mine a bit more before the next shiny toy catches my eye.
