Great ties, guys. Mike, can you share that recipe? Nice looking caddies

Thanks John, Jim recipe is as follows.

Hook, 14 scud hook.
Thread 12/0 Euro thread dark brown.
Under body, chartreuse thread, build up taper rib with black thread.
Body, clear D-rib medium.
Veil in split thread, Senyo laser dub, olive. Wrapped and brushed back to envelope body.
Head dark brown rabbit in split thread also brushed a bit.

GenCon

Where does the brown thread come in? Is it for the split thread dubbing technique used for the head?

Nomad, it is used through out the fly. For this fly I use brown due to the color other the head. It blends in. Also the Euro thread splits very nicely and for 12/0 it is very strong.

That makes sense. The chartreuse is for the building the taper and abdomen of the fly?

Nomad, yes that is what the chartreuse is for also it creates the color below the D-rib.

Worked on a few wets the other night. My personal favorite, the dark cahill

There is some really impressive work being shown on this thread!

Thanks to everyone for sharing!

Hey Dave

You got a recipe, or a link for that fly?

I love it. How heavy are you tying them?

I used partridge for the legs instead of deer hair.

I tie these in different colors. Last year was the first year i concentrated on fishing with more emergers. I had enough success to make me tie a dozen more of these bad boys.

I fish it 12" behind a caddis of some kind. Hopper dropper style. Covers more ground, in case im not sure if the fish are looking for emergers or drys.
