Brodin landing nets

I think im gunna do a little researce on the cortland net. It seems like it could be fairly nice. I also had a frabill that I lost in the manada backcountry one day, never went back to look for it either.

Brodin nets are IMHO the best, mine is 15 years old ,a catch & release net, could use a sand job i wouldn't know what to put on as a finish after sanding it though..i have heard linseed oil...not sure so she'll stay as she is,its been used alot but the net is bomb proof.

You would need to take the net off, sand the poly off, then apply new matte finish poly to restore to original condition. Though it doesn't look like it, the finish on the Brodin is a standard matte finish poly. You could consider a matte finish spar varnish for a bit more protection. Linseed oil (boiled linseed oil) offers practically no protection from water. It will be easier to refinish, however no protection from mold, mildew, water staining, etc.
