Give it a break
It's almost like allot of them were in the closet before this thread hahahaHey Fred,
While I agree the majority of threads and posts on here are about FFing for trout. The posts above prove that a good many PAFFers fish for other species besides trout. They just don't get as much "ink" as the trout do on here. I'm not sure why that is, but all types of FFing stories, info and reports are welcome.

If you find them, they are easy to catch on the fly in rivers.I am planning to go try to catch a walleye tonight on the fly. I might report back.
Found some. They were busting bait in shallow water. This one ate my small streamer. Quite fun and not too much of a drive. If you find them, they are easy to catch on the fly in rivers.
Yep, I've found they eat pretty much any bait fish pattern. They don't fight very hard, but if you're into keeping a couple, they are a mighty fine meal.Found some. Kinda glad the other species don't get as much ink - keeps the riff raff off those waterways 😉.Hey Fred,

My father-in-law caught a big walleye behind the Gibson Hotel on Pine Creek many years ago... probably on a slate drake. If you find them, they are easy to catch on the fly in rivers.
Catching a walleye on a dry fly is something I have never heard of before. If I lived in the northern midwest, I'd be one of those hardcore walleye anglers out there on the lakes all of the time.My father-in-law caught a big walleye behind the Gibson Hotel on Pine Creek many years ago... probably on a slate drake.
I started last night on a mouse, and had three explosive hits but did not land any. They could have been bass, but the walleye were chasing baitfish to the surface. I did get a few walleye waking my streamers across the surface with twitches and pauses, they would come up and slam it.Catching a walleye on a dry fly is something I have never heard of before.
