What Are You Tying Today?

messing with a deer hair gurgler type fly which was originally tied by Ken Schwamm and named the donuthin' bug. the original didn't have the side hackling but he used it on his real fancy deer hair poppers and i thought it looked cool so i added it to this.

Yeah I was looking for a big heavy point fly to hang in front of an unweighted black stone fly when the name jumped out at me from a Youtube video. Plus, I didn’t have anything to match the shart hatch with. A win win.

I AM glad that you are finding some good uses for that cord - I've got ~26 total colors of it.
 
What I like about fishing tying: exactly the same video i used last year to tie some up. But everyone's perspective snd priority or appearance is differen...good lord, in finding that pic i realized that was two years ago...
