What's the materials you are using for those scuds? Is that foam?

Many of my flies utilize a custom material that I have designed.

In this case: Felt, paint, clear plastic, and monofilament (sometimes foam that acts as a counterfloat).

I'm on a scud and cress bug kick lately. Here are some more....

I love that one by your pinky finger!

"Tied" this one up during the snow storm Thursday. First bass bug of the year for me.

Been in a soft hackle mood lately. Here is a partridge and purple and a ginger/tan.

Sandfly that looks great. I like the translucency. Too many streamers today are too over dressed for my taste

I agree. It looks nice and slinky, too.

Just finished these poppers up yesterday. First two pictures are weedless frogs tied with the double barrel popper bodies. Next three are tied on soft foam popper bodies

NewSal, really like that Caddis, what material are you using for the underside of the body?

Its a polar chenille, the pattern is George Daniels 'Catnip'.

I have been tying some sulphurs. I made a few hair stackers with a 3D printer. Having multiple stackers really speeds up the tying process.

3D printed stackers! That’s cool. Give us some close ups and explain further. Wow.

STONEMAN:

I will try to take some additional pictures.

I found the plans online. (Google: Fly Tying 3D printing). I also found and printed a pretty neat tool holder that fits on my vise stem.

The original plans rendered a very large stacker. I just scaled them down in Print Studio. I have access to two printers in my classroom so these provided a good test product. Now if we could just get them to properly print out my students' projects we will be all set.
