n frechet...can't see those either. anyone else?

i have no idea why the photos are not showing up

i have tried photobucket and tinypic hosting sights and they work on other forums but just recently not here

could be something going on with this forums software or my photos are too bad to post :-(

I never tied many articulated patterns but I've been playing around with Rich Strolis' Ice Pick Streamer lately. They are fun to tie, they look great when wet and the Smallies think so too. Hoping to get after some big fall trout with them.

I them too, nice streamers

Very nice streamer. I like how the colors really pop when wet. I always tie my flies thinking about how the water will impact the fly once it's in the stream. Job well done. I will try incorporate some these contrasting features in my next fly.

I am keeping it simple trying my best to tie some partridge and orange and partridge and olives with wire ribbing to add segmentation because I do not have the silk that is called for. Hope they work.

John sweet streamer! Nfechet nice flies!

Nomad, those look good, nice and sparse. They would like really awesome in the jaws of a Peak :)

Yes they would look much better in the jaws of a peak or most any vise for that matter. I still need to make it to a store that carries a peak and check it out.

Also I have to say the bags of partridge feathers are quite aggravating when compared to working off of a whole skin. I keep going to the ginger partridge skin over the bag of natural feathers. I think I am going to have to pick up natural skin and leave the bags of feathers for another time.

I agree with Tyger. All great flys guys.
Nomad flys look great. I am sure they will work. What are you using for the orange color? The main reason silk is used is that it maintains its color when wet.

GenCon I am using UTC Ultra in 70 denier flo orange. I never though about the thread losing its color when wet. That is pretty interesting. But I am very new to this so I feel like I am constantly learning.

I think eventually I will end up ordering so silk when I finally order some things online and I can throw the silk on the order.

Nomad, sink one in water. See what happens. May be ok. Although you may be new. You did a real nice job tying these. I think you will find the silk a bit more difficult to work with. It is very thick compared to what you are using. But don't let that stop you. Using it will teach you very good thread control.

Nice job,

GenCon
