Tail brown India hen or partridge.
dubbing red brown fairly dark
legs same as tail.
wing case lacquered wild turkey tail.

Jack I like those. Did you tie those for me? LOL

Thanks gencon, and for the ribbing?
Also, I want to make it as realistic as possible. What color dubbing would you used for that little yellow, tan spot?

Wooley Bugger w/ grizzly hackle. Now that I've learned to focus on small flies I forget how to take pics of larger ones.

Ribbing copper wire. That being said many flys I like to rib them with size A silk of the appropriate color. Silk maintains its color when wet.
As far as yellow/tan spot. I don't think it is necessary. But if you want you could add a bit of golden olive. If more realistic is your goal. Look at your fly wet. What we see when we tie and what the fish sees under water can be quite different.

Bob, the pic may not be so great. But the fly looks pretty damn good.
Your tying is really coming along nicely.

Do you fish these for trout ?

RCFetter,

You have tied some really nice looking flies lately. That black bugger with the grizzly hackle will be a fish catchin' machine. The more you tie the better you get, keep up the good work.

Thanks DC. Work is very slow.

Rc, longbow,stagger nice looking ties.
Fredrick, yes I drift it through deep runs. Honestly I started tying it looking for a couple of anchor flies that would get my smaller flies down deep & take fish regularly. My original thought for it was for high muddy hard water but as it turns out it works a good bit of the time.

Black stonefly nymph and muskrat nymph.
