Pure Cringe

So let's clarify. You're in a fly fishing SPECIFIC forum. Someone posts a video exhibiting some unsavory fishing activities while fishing spinning gear in an attempt to berate and make of it. People naturally do this (as expected) and somehow this divides people. Explain that.

I'll tell you what, I think the angling community is too soft and too accepting. In an age where people cause harm to fish in order to get attention on a social media platform, yeah, I'd like to be alienated from THAT.

I made it through to 3:35. It's not a good video. Don't waste your time.

I don't think people were harming fish for attention.....I think they were harming fish out of ignorance of how to properly handle a delicate fish like a brookie.

People have to start somewhere, and as long as they continue to educate and improve then they are just two guys looking for fun.

And I disagree. The angling community can be pretty darn harsh until you earn your stripes, so to speak.

This video accurately depicts LITERALLY EVER SPIN FISHER in PA.
No it does not. I have been contemplating a return to spin fishing due to an injury. I resent being tarred with the same brush as these "anglers".
Also, I agree with Krayfish2 in that I switch tackle as the water warms and I target other species.

So what's up with this new breed of "tacticool spin bro operators". Has this always been a thing? It seems in recent times I've seen more kitted out spin fishers. All of their gear (besides the rod and reel) is pretty decent.

Also, who wants to watch a 20 minute video of tossing a Mepps Aglia and atrociously poor fish handling (wonder if these fish are going to file sexual assault claims) by some neck beards? I'd rather watch crush porn...
Get off my lawn!!! Unless it’s an Able fly reel and an orvis blackout rod, you don’t have any right to fish for my brook trout! 🙄

I spin fish for bass several times a year. So your comment....
I also spin fish for bass and panfish on occasion. I’ve even done it with dem natives. They taste real good fried up with butter in a cast iron over an open fire.

But what about that soft and accepting angling culture? We would NEVER tar and feather ya....unless.....

That sucks, I'm guessing an arm injury?
You don't have to say, I'm not trying to pry or be nosey. I've been having a bad case of tennis elbow now for over 16 months. It won't seem to go away and casting can be painful at times.

Everything is better with bacon fat.
I had doubts about the whole" bacon makes everything better" thing. And then I tried Maple Bacon donuts and that convinced me.
My new thing is hickry syrup for marinadin' and cooking. It makes stuff better like bacon but not on a bacon level if that makes sense.
