streams (not Penns) 12 is fine. I tie #12s too. But its not the delusion of grandeur type of fly we see at the Jam. Love the recipe though. But I'm just funnin'. Tie what you catch fish on.

I really wanted to go out today to try to locate some carp. However, the 25 mph winds kind of put a damper on those plans.

Instead I twisted up a couple of carp bugs to chuck into the carp box.

Carp Maul pattern in Mulberry purple!

And a carp soft hackle pattern tied on a size 8 Daiichi 1530 hook

Best nymph ever., except I don't tie mine with partridge. I use a webby, brown saddle hackle feather.

Putting my recent carp tying spree to shame! Beauties.

a lot of times my oversized hackled gray fox variants will not land properly and they float face down.
i'm wondering if a blind eyed snelled version will prevent that??
