Mr. Clark explains it much better than I can.

Only difference is I place a bead on prior to tying, and build a small thread dam behind bead to hold it in place. I used size 12 hook with 3 mm (1/8" bead) and UTC 140 thread. SUPER TIGHT wraps are important. Almost to point of breaking thread. At the end, he uses a lighter to trim his fly. I am not that steady, I use scissors.

Oh I didn't think they were glow bugs. I thought they were those egstacy or however you spell it flies.

Is the bottom scud woven? Done with a Potts Weave?

Big John. Here is Holsingers tying one with eggstacy. I heard of the stuff but never saw it our used it. I had to check and see how it was used. This video came up. Pretty simple.
 
I have tied up several eggs using eggstacy. Easy to tie and work well.
