Thanks. The crays, and the hellgrammite, are tied with a custom material that I make myself using paint and craft cloth. The beetles below are also partly made with this material. The crayfish claws are connected to the body with rubber band, which allows for the claws to wiggle. The claws also have a small piece of foam glued underneath which provides shape as well as movement.

I like realistic flies, but these are designed to be durable and fish well, with natural movement in the water.
 
Some beetles for the summer trout season.

As mentioned in a different thread, I'm seeing a lot of Japanese Beetles this year. However, basic beetle flies are always a good choice and are my primary go-to pattern for summer trout fishing.

Bought a morrish mouse cutter that doubles as a gurgler cutter double score . Tied my first morrish mouse got it wet the next day and caught my personal best Bowfin 6lbs :-D

tie these in your favorite colors, favorite dubbing etc
 
More muskie flies. They kinda look like snakeheads, don'tcha think? :cool:

Now if only the rivers would come down so we can target toothies this fall....

Nice flys guys. I have been so busy with work. I have hardly tied a fly since I mid June. This will slow down soon and I will get some vice time.
