The "feel" of bamboo was always too obscure for me. The bamboos I have feel slow and heavy (one being an upscale Orvis that I paid two weeks' wages for when I began to work). Doesn't Deborah Weisberg write eloquently? I think she is the best writer writing about the outdoors today. Despite the action taking place on off-limits, private Spruce Creek, I think this article is wonderful. My hat is off to her for her terrific writing.

Rich: She certainly is a great writer, I enjoy all her articles, I was a little learly about posting the link since the fishing was on private water, however that has been private even before my time, the article does however show fly fishing as it should be. Just a guy or three, the fish and the stream, no guides, massage parlors, or conciegeres, ( I ain't gonna check the spelling, it seems they are baby sitters or butlers or ?? What a beautiful rain we are getting, we needed it badly.
