I recently spoke with someone who has fly fished Racoon lake early spring and fall and had done well. Has anyone fished fly fished this lake for trout? I mostly see rod and reel folks using worms and power bait. If caught a few bass there but never saw anyone fly fish it. If so can point me in a general vicinity where to FF there?

Raccoon lake is mostly just rod and reel but you can fly fish it. Don't let them intimidate you haha. Closes to the dam I think is where the trout hang out. Right now you could still fish the top and lower part of the creeks. Just not in March when they stock.

I've fly fished traverse creek that runs out of the lake maybe twice. Lakes like that are tough to figure out IMO for fly fishers. There are a few coves around that I've caught some good bluegill but the lake in general has stumped me the handful of times I've fished it. I've actually walked the trails looking for mushrooms more than I've fished it in recent years.
