PAFF Annual Spring Jamboree 2010

Jack,

Lestrout has a car full of firewood he is bringing. The reason I know this is he showed up at my house a week early for the Jam. He messed up on his calendar.

He was chin deep in firewood when he pulled up to the house. 🙂

Hopefully some of his boo rods don't get mixed in the the kindling.. 😛

If they do, they'll just become flamed bamboo rods, with blued furrels. Bring some wood or throw a couple extra bucks in the kitty. If everyone chips in a bit, we will have plenty of wood to burn.

And remember, no firewood from out of state.l Don't want to spread any more invasive species than necessary.

Don't wanna jinx anything here, but the latest forecast for this weekend is looking pretty good. Rain today, tomorrow, and wednesday. But clearing up thursday, and right thru the weekend.
Knock on wood

looks like some scattered rain for the weekend, but that will change every day. just hope the rain we get today and tomorrow won't bring penns up too much, seems like penns takes a long time to drop after big rains. but, there are many, many other streams to fish within a short drive, plus, the brookie streams might just be perfect.
either way, the beer will be cold, the company is sure to be good and I'm postive a good time will be had by all.
just trying to decide what rods/reels to bring and what vehicle to ride/drive. hopeing it's nice so I can ride a bike, 50mpg sure beats 12mpg!!
jake, I don't think your allowed to transfer any wood between counties, yet alone states! if out of state/county wood is brought, I think it's ok as long as it all gets burned, when it lies around for week afterward is when the nasty critters come out.

problem solved!

Groove, sent me a PM, telling me he has a 30 cup coffee maker he'll bring alone, so along with my 30 cuper that should be enough. We can use both on Sat and Sun. whem the bulk of the people will be there.

On the others days starting on Friday, I'll have the coffee at my camper( siteD12), please don't drive to my place, no place to park. If you want to you can park at the pavillion, just a short walk to my place.

Looking forward to it!

If we could get it to rain ONLY from 3pm to 6pm on Saturday, I'd be down with that...still doesn't look bad....yet.

I'm liking that the hot/humid weather is gone for later in the trip.

With possibly the largest crowd ever expected, I just called the campground about a reservation for friday and sat night.
Was told that even though they have 17 tent sites reserved, there are still plenty of them available for this weekend

Starting to put my gear together and have a question on rod weights to bring. I have access to a 4 wht, 5-6 wht, and a 7 wht. I’ve never been out this way and am not sure what to bring. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

If you can only bring one, bring the 5. I'd carry the 4 as a backup. The 7 weight could be used for smallmouth or throwing huge streamers, but I don't think it will get much action.

Tom

Just found out yesterday, I will be bringing some deer bologna

just read on bruce fishers website (penns creek angler) the green drakes are just starting. I thought they might be hatching for the jam, everything is early this year!

Beside the deer bolona, my Son gave me some Deer sausage, back straps and some other meat. I'll grill some up for all!
