I need to know the pattern for a PA fly called the Dirty Bird. It isn't the one known in the West, originated by Cal Bird. This one was shown to me and resembles a woolly worm with goose biot tied in as legs. It has a brown chenille body. Anybody know a pattern?

google up
dirty bird fly pattern-
oops didn't see any claiming to be Pa. but interesting pattern-use a marabou tail and it would be a good hybrid.

I've been through the usual Google stuff and don't find anything that looks like this thing. The Google fly has a beadhead, for example. My fly looks more like a Girdle Bug.

most likely a very localized pattern with the same name. can you post a picture ?

http://wildernessangler.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html look down through the blog, there is a snowfly with a bead head, but if you take the beadhead off it could be what you might be looking for.

...saw that one. I'm just going to improvise. Wish I had a photo.
