Somehow I have gotten on the weekly email newsletter of Fly Shack, an online fly shop (I think). Anyhow, each week they offer a selection of flies on sale at 59 cents apiece. The photos show them to be attractive, well-tied flies.

If you are looking for inexpensive flies, this might be a good source for you. I imagine you could google up the site and get on their email list. I have no idea how I got on the list.

They also offer other items on sale each week as well. If you're not bothered by another weekly (or more frequent) email to you, this might be a good place to check out.

I haven't bought anything from them -- yet!

They, along with other online sellers like Big Y, provide good flies at reasonable prices.

Dear rrt,

I buy often from the Fly Shack, mostly when prompted by email.

Their flies are certainly fish worthy, maybe not as perfect as a $ 2.99 bead head Pheasant Tail should be, but for $ 15.00 - $ 17.00 for 2 dozen flies only a fool would complain.

I usually wind up spending another $ 33.00 to get the free shipping by buying something I probably don't need because it saves me $ 8.00.

Honestly, their flies are fine especially if you know you are going to use them hard. I'm not tying 2 dozen BH Pheasant Tails to use as trailers off of bass or panfish poppers. I get a dozen or more fish out of every one of them I have ever tied on.

That's good enough for this kid!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂
