It's fun to re-read some of your fishing library. "The Trout At The Walnut Tree" is working!

I read that when I was a kid. I think it's what made me want to try flyfishing. Of course it took me like 18 yrs to get around to it! :p

Trout by Ray Bergman
I read that so many times I almost memorized it.lol
He really didn't give much advice that the new breed could use but he put you right there. He was the one that got me thinking of the west.
I sat on the bank of Armstrong Spring creek near Livingston,Mt. and watched Joe Brooks fishing. He was far better than his critics wanted to admit. He was catching fish after fish while others were having a tough time.He may not of known the Latin names and cared much for nymph fishing but he had the touch.
about 10 years before that I sat on a bank of the Yellow Breeches and watched Ed Schenk give the lads a lesson in Nymph fishing. He was using one of his 5 foot glass rods and caught about 5 while others were striking out.
Two writers that could back it up.

Pete,

I agree, "Trout" is a great read!
