Anyone ever been?
Any information would be appreciated.
I will be staying in Northwestern Ireland Co.Mayo

Thanx,

Hey Steve, I leave Saturday for Ireland and am squeezing in my 5 piece just in case. Hope to wet a line in the Connemara area.

Good luck with your trip DS.

If you'd care to, a report in the Travel and Adventure forum with a few choice pics would be nice.

yes, I have a place down south in Cork on the Blackwater.

try here for starting info :

The Moy at Foxford is probably your best bet for a salmon.

its a little early for sea trout, but there may be a few larger fish around.

if you want free fishing - you can fish the estuary at high or falling tides at ross beach in Killala or walk the mile or so from enniscrone to the outflow.

you also have trout fishing on lough mask - which can be epic during the mid April Mayflies hatches.

hire a ghillie and a boat.

if you get plenty of rain - the spate rivers such as the easkey, owenwee, Owenmore fish well as they drop.

best of luck.

if you have any problems finding fishing - just ask in the local pub or post office.
