Fly Casting Competition

I am 90% in. I may have to leave 10% of myself home. Haha.

Where do you live TR...I plan to drive and maybe stay over night Saturday. I know you probably have to work sunday so a carpool may not work.

My cousin Nick will be with me.

I'm in. May be noon till I get there.

Btw, I think we should meet at the bridge right above the confluence of Bald Eagle at 11am. We can then figure out where exactly you wanna cast at.

Great to see more folks committing. Obviously, I'll be there with all the "stuff." I'll be there at 11 a.m.

Good time.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and having some fun. It was quite a good mix of people and it was fun talking about the various aspects of fly fishing.

we even caught some fish!

Special thank you to OldLefty. It was very kind of you to come down and I had a great time talking shop and learning quite a bit. Thanks for all your insight!

Yes what he said. Thanks to everybody that came, especially Tim, without him I wouldn't have been able to bust balls. Thanks to Dave for spending the day with us and helping us all. Fishing was OK. ;-)

I had fun too even though I didn't catch a lot of fish.

Shane here is your bug. Orange cahill

Maurice,

Did you take that picture today of the cahill?

Yeah I saw a few of them come off up in the canyon.

But I think saturday evening we were seeing the spinners.

Yep, because I clearly saw the egg sacks on the females.

here are some Pics:

Thank you Lefty for sharing your casting knowledge with us. Your enthusiasm is 'catching'.

Thanks to Maurice and TimRobinsin for all the on stream advice.

Great time!

Thanks Dave for the casting tips and demos. And it was great meeting everyone. And the red beet eggs and chips were very tasty.

I should have used sunblock, hat, long sleeved shirt etc. against that sun, but since it's been cooling off in the evenings I got the idea that fall is here, so no worries. Plus I usually fish "in some dark hollow, where the sun refuses to shine."

Right now I got me some sunburnzzz.

Sounds familiar: some dark hollow.

It's from a bluegrass song that's been performed by many people.

DARK HOLLOW
Writer: Bill Browning

I'd rather be in some dark holler
Where the sun don't never shine
Than to be at home alone, knowin' that she's gone
That'd cause me to lose my mind.

CHORUS
So blow your whistle freight train
Take me far on down the track
I'm goin' away, I'm leavin' today
I'm a-goin', but I ain't comin' back.

I'd rather be in some dark holler
Where the sun don't never shine
Than to be in this big city
In a small room with you on my mind.

Wild or Stocked? Lol j\k
