Nice article, but they missed a key milestone. The invention of the palomino trout. I think that's the clear #1.
 
I'm not even sure it's all that accurate. They listed St Croix Imperial as the longest running line of fly rods, but the Leonard 50 was in production for most of the 20th century.
 
I thought the squirmy wormy would make the list. HAHAHAHA "Sarcasm on"
 
Mop fly was revolutionary to me.
 
I think they also missed pegged beads for catching redds
