Fenwick Model FF756 Fiberglass Fly Rod

This rod was one of Fenwick’s more popular fiberglass fly rods during the period when it was produced, 1972-1988. It is in very good+, clean, used condition, and is a 7 1/2’ long, 6wt rod (some also like to use a 7wt line on it).

The rod has been used but the cork handle is clean and there are only the smallest of marks on the blank. The rod tube is in very good, clean condition, but the end caps do show some wear signs. The cloth bag is not original to the rod but it is also in very good, clean condition.

I’d like $100.00 for the rod, picked up in the Lancaster area, or I will ship it for the actual shipping cost, paid by PayPal.

One is a Heddon, Japanese made Hardy Lightweight knock off, with an as-new Cortland peach 444 wf6f line and attached tapered leader, and the other is a Cortland Crown II reel with an as-new Scientific Angler Master wf7f line and attached tapered leader. I have that exact rod can’t let it go , I paid 49.99 $ for it with money I made trapping muskrats,I just put a Cheeky sighter on it ,it was my first flyrod

I built that rod from a kit I bought through Cabelas. I recall the kit was about 10 dollars back in the early 70s. While still a nice glass rod it doesnt compare to the glass rods today. I sometimes fish a T&T Lotic glass rod which is much more stable then the old Fenwick but now costs 600.00. They were 450.00 or so when first introduced.
I want to redo the wraps on my old Fenwick as I still think its a neat rod.

We’re going to end up with a whole discussion here on Fenwick rods, but that’s 👍. I’ve also got another FF756, but not as nice as this one, and a couple other Fenwick rods as well.

Back in the 70s it seemed like most of my fly fishing friends were using Fenwick rods, and I remember making a couple of fly rods for them from kits that I think they may have bought at Cabelas too. But those rods may not have been Fenwick’s, I can’t remember.
