“What happens when the hatchery truck leaves?
The impact of stocking on wild populations”

About Shannon White:
Shannon graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a dual major in Environmental Studies and Biology. She completed her Master of Science, Fisheries and Wildlife Science, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Shannon is currently a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and Ph.D. candidate, Ecology, at Penn State University. She is an experienced researcher and presenter of issues relating to fish populations and conservation. Shannon is also president of the Ecology Graduate Student Organization at University Park. She presented this talk last night at the Susquehanna Tu meeting and it was very interesting, got into the potential impacts of hatchery fish interbreeding with native brookies and the rate at which this might be occurring in the Loyalsock Creek watershed. If you have a chance to go I highly recommend it!
