Video on how to tie.

Great pattern, especially for winter trout fishing.

Use a zebra midge with a bead at the eye for a deeper presentation for midges, but try this pattern to represent an emerger when trout are feeding at or near the surface. It imitates a midge pupa hanging close to the surface.

That pattern was a favorite of mine when fishing the Monocacy over the Winter. I'd find a rising fish in slower water, cast slightly ahead of the fish and give the fly some short strips when I thought it was over the fish. Usually results in some explosive strikes.

I was tying some today but in fact didn’t care too much for the recipe. Now I see this nice recipe and think it sounds like a nice dropper for a prince for stockies on the Martins Creek and also for pre-spawn Gills in March April.
Thanks Afish.

This guy always cracks me up when he calls his bobbin holder a bobbin.
I wonder if he calls his rod a reel?
