BEST FISHING VEHICLE?

i have a 09 f150 fx4, great truck , just installed a windsheild washer heater that preheats the fluid, money well spent, ford normally goes 5-6 yrs without any changes except maybe cosmetic, but now for 011 they have four new engines, time will tell about the new ecoboost engine

If gas prices rise like many predict, this will be what we can afford to drive to the stream (thank God for 4 piece rods!)

Oh, I know how this ends, I've seen the movie....

...That'll be my choice. I've been told its the duck's guts, Maxie.

Gfen, I really like that ele! I never thought about one of those that much. does that have the K series motor or is it still a B series? just wondering, I never really messed with the newer motors. I "tuned" my CR-V motor...I wish I hadn't but whats done is done and although it was a very expensive lesson, I did learn how to work on the honda B-series motor pretty well. I think that would probably do the trick if i could find one on the cheap.

well, if money were no object....

K24.

And then, there was this: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/04/honda-eliminating-boxy-element/?iref=NS1

I'm saddened.

HA! Librarian, I've seen that rig at corsons inlet. I have a pic of it somewhere too.

Bob Popovics has a nice rig. Sandfly prolly knows what I am talking about. Jacked-up 4x4 van. Sweet ride!

its not my Dodge Ram.

I love it as a truck - 4x4, crew cab, Cummins diesel, but it sucks as a fishing vehicle. No cap since I have a fifth wheel so rods have to be taken down or stuck out the back window. No locking cover so storage is not secure. I can sleep across the backseat though. Its too wide and too high, always seem to be scratching it with limbs. Stiff suspension rides like a rock sled on back roads (especially when i forget to deflate the air bags)

Hopefully i can park it later this summer and keep it for towing then buy a used FJ Cruiser, they seem like a good hunting/fishing vehicle. My plan after i buy one is to wash and wax it, slap on a bunch of decals and never wash it again 🙂

Bobby P. has a Quigly van, made here in pa. they do motor home conversions as well as vans. used to be 5 of them on the beach. My uncle smokie from toms river has one. theres a large motor home down at the jetty all the time all done up with diamond plate. goy's name if Allen used to meet him there to fish jetty. I think its 34 feet long.

The jeep has yet to fail me. I wish it had more space, but it's a pretty sweet fishin' vehicle. It would be perfect if I had something with better gas mileage for general use. Hopefully that'll be happening before gas skyrockets.

I was wondering when you would weigh in. If I was single my no. 1 choice would be a jeep.

@ acristic,

The Busch is waaaayyyy out of place in that car. Fat tire, love that stuff. Used to drink it all the time when I lived in Idaho and other western trips, but I can't get it here. Since then I'd always be on the look out for it. Took a business trip to Denver, and on the way home I got a case and it flew as my carry-on bag, hehe. A few months later, my wife went to a conference in Phoenix, and did the same; totally shocked me when I picked her up at the airport and she walks out carrying a case. She's a keeper, lol.

Now the airlines have those stupid liquid laws. Sucks too, I was in San Fran last winter for a conference and coulda brought more home. I got the case, but had to finish it off in the hotel room. That was a rough night.

@ Justfish,

Got a way to land that thing in the woods? Or are we droppin a rope?

pat,

I've seen fat tire at specialty shops like the foodery in Philly (if I remember correctly).

It's probably $4 a bottle, though.

Moose drool is amazing. Love it.
