I'll echo Bamboozles comments minus the Tenkara part. I almost never use a net even in the float tube.

I think i missed out on the benefits of a longer rod when I was out west on bigger water. Being so low I think I might try one for the float tube but didn't know if a 4wt would be enough unless the length made up for the lighter line to some degree. Thanks for clearing that up.
