Your best wild trout in 2024

This is the 2024 winner so far for me. Also not from a big stream. I think I'll go back there tomorrow, good reminder.

First one is from the Letort, just under 17 inches so not too big but still my first decent sized fish in PA, the second one was a little over 17 inches and was caught out in Oregon, I might like the second one more just because of how crazy the fight was, it went straight downstream under big fallen tree and if it weren’t for my uncle who chased after it I would have definitely lost it. These two were the only somewhat big fish that I caught all season but it was the first year that I tried to fly fish more than tiny brookie streams so I’m happy with them

Due to work I might have trout fished 5 total days this year and most of it was out of state. Bummer considering I used to be a bum but salt has kept me busy. So no wild trout photos from me but enjoy a massive cuda instead.

While they ain’t huge, my first season of fly fishing was a success in my book! I’m definitely hooked for the foreseeable future.

In all seriousness it’s not about the fish caught that’s the bonus when I get up at 3:00 am and head out all my problematic thoughts just start melting away , work, spouse health problems , everything just melts away temporarily me and a buddy are headed out tomorrow to walk 4 miles to access a small stream where it enters a lake , taking shotguns with us should a Grouse show us his whereabouts and were lucky enough to bag one we’re going to cook eat stream side and then see if there’s any fish in this little stream

What’s the fly in his mouth?
I don’t remember, it was back in May, and I had a guide with me choosing the flies. It was my first time fishing in Central PA and my first time targeting specifically wild trout. Since then, I’ve had luck with streamers at night because it’s easier for me to go out after my kids are out to bed.
