I gave you two. I caught bigger this year, but for me, it's all about coloration. The brown came out of a Nat Repro stream and was really neat looking- especially the red adipose and red tail. The brookie....who doesn't like those vivid orange bellies?

My two best fish this year were caught within 30 minutes of each other and in the same pool this spring. The first one took an x caddis and the second one ate a BWO comparadun.

I believe both are wild but could be mistaken on the first one.

Got this one on a cold day in February. A quick 30 minute session in the creek behind my work in a borderline urban area in Berks co. It was tucked in a root ball that I had already cast to heading down stream. On the way back up an old lady with a thick Hispanic accent said something like “the fish they are under that tree” I thought yea sure lady but what the hell I’ll give it another try. And boom it wacked the streamer. Kinda funny when I spent many hours and $$ traveling to far away streams. I also rarely fish a streamer. Later in the spring I watched a large palomino weave in and out of the root ball showing now interest in my flies.

I live in Exeter and often drive up to Skook County to fish. Guess I need to explore more around town! I know there are some good pockets around

Not my biggest but favorite success story! Drove 2 hours to the Susky for SMB, still high and murky, no luck. Wove back through the hills and stopped by a tiny stream I drive over frequently but never fish. First pool, pulled out a chub and saw a real good size brookie chasing him. Tossed in a wing back streamer and pulled this little guy! The big one is still in there somewehre.

Favorite 2024 Saltwater Fish on Fly:
4 lb Rainbow Runner. It was a unique catch and beautiful fish. The sashimi was excellent as well.

Favorite 2024 Freshwater Catch: 19 1/2 inch brown that slow sipped and ISO dry on a long cast. I love the pumpkin king coloration.

I’ve been spin fishing for eater walleyes in my local waters and saugeyes back in Ohio, so I have not picked up the long rod for a bit. I have to break it back out for steelhead season. Tight lines to all!!!

First one is from the Letort, just under 17 inches so not too big but still my first decent sized fish in PA, the second one was a little over 17 inches and was caught out in Oregon, I might like the second one more just because of how crazy the fight was, it went straight downstream under big fallen tree and if it weren’t for my uncle who chased after it I would have definitely lost it. These two were the only somewhat big fish that I caught all season but it was the first year that I tried to fly fish more than tiny brookie streams so I’m happy with them
Nice browns
