I had not read through the posts from the beginning of this thread until now. Wishing caddisflyer well.
Thank you. I am doing surprisingly well after a difficult period of chemo, radiation and surgery. My doctors are even amazed. I don't want to get too ****y about things though because cancer is very sneaky. Going today for more scans. I have had a so so year in terms of catching fish but a very good year in terms of my appreciation of life. Enjoy every minute folks!I had not read through the posts from the beginning of this thread until now. Wishing caddisflyer well.
Great to hear.Thank you. I am doing surprisingly well after a difficult period of chemo, radiation and surgery. My doctors are even amazed. Aggressive and worthy objectives. My goals for the year were
1. Enter a fly fishing contest and do well. - I did and placed 3rd out of like 50 entrants
2. Spend more time throwing streamers - I have, although it’s hard to put euronymph rod down when it’s working well
3. Travel outside of PA - I fished SD, WY, MT, ID and WV
4. Find some new streams and fish new regions of PA. - so far not done enough of this yet. Hopefully in the fall or next spring.
One more to go, where are you guys at with yours?Hmmm
1) Beat my PB snakehead on the fly
2) Beat my PB Bowfin on the fly
3) Catch more Stripers on the fly
4) Buy a boat to chase all these fish
You sir are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing. To live to 82 and keep catching big trout.
Well my casting is improving so that is half of one down. Still can't seem to get the double hauldown. More work is required.2 goals this year.
Improve my casting and learn to double haul and shoot line for my Florida trips. I suck at it currently.
Fish more and start a journal to keep track of weather, time of year and patterns that produced. All to improve the consistency of catching fish not just fishing.
On my list, too.Life happened, still no striper from saltwater
You look familiar. Were you at Black Walnut Bottom at Pine Creek last October? A guy who looked just like the man in the photo enthusiastically congratulated me when I landed a trout on an October caddis. To live to 82 and keep catching big trout.
Very jealous
Ha! Would've got it either way.Me "liking" your post didn't seem appropriate on my end. But I appreciate the sentiment.
