Is the water near the college worth the time to attempt? Most of what I've been reading on-line has been mostly focused on the areas around Allenburry and was interested to see if this stretch is also productive.

Thanks

Yes, it's worth exploring... as is the many miles above and below it.

My experience is that mid to late summer the fishing is poor.
Trout Run, a spring creek empties near the College and could potentially provide colder water. I caught fall fish. The hexagenia hatch is pretty prolific here though. Be prepare to deal with kayakers as this section is a very popular float.

Thanks albud and Dave. Having a kid start school there in the Fall and are interested in exploring the best waters near that area. Much appreciated!

I find it comparable to most of the other atw water on the lower end of the Breeches. I've caught wild fish right by the college during an especially heavy bikini hatch.

I’ve fished spring and winter it holds a lot of stocked trout and more often than not wild browns.

Our last one graduated from there yesterday. He says there's a huge stocked rainbow under the covered bridge. He and his buddies did okay last week but not too much happening on top yet.
Trout run can be good for a wild brown or two. The short stretch between trout run and the covered bridge was a good place for a couple while waiting to pick up the kids for spring or fall break.
