Woven bodies...

Good call with the wings. Didn't think about that.

I usually just pull off 1 or 2 lengths from the hank, depends on the size of the fly, and use it that way. No need to rewind or wrap it onto anything.

Great ties Lou - it was nice to meet you today!

Thanks, Keith, looking foward to getting together to fish this year.

Meet ! when did you meet the troll (lou).

Lou,
That is the way I'm currently doing it, but I heard some discussions about wrapping the embroidery floss around a spool so you can use a bobbin and keep better tension on the material.

LouM that stone fly is exactly what i meant by combining materials , swannundaze and yarn or ostrich herl? BEAUTIFUL MAN.

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments.
Lou

I was just wondering how he tied it etc ,if you know what I mean lol

Don't you 2 clowns have anything better to do?

Hey Lou I should give ya some of my hooks and Tungsten beads and have you weave me up some nice heavy anchor flies for Colorado . I will trade ya for a day on the water teaching you how to use your new fancy rod. LOL.

Just started weaving flies. The contrasting colors do seem to trigger a take. This is only my 10th try this week.
