Who Is Fishing Slate Run?

Back in those days, the state stocked almost anything that could hold trout.

and its still getting stocked fish.....

Is the PFBC stocking the stream? As far as I know, the state stopped stocking Slate decades ago. Or are we talking about swim-ups from Pine or the occasional bucket job by locals?

Slate Run is not stocked by PFBC, however stockies do run up during the summer and it may get some additional fish from a club or 2. But I've never caught a stocked trout in Slate Run.

I have most definitely caught stockers from Slate. Always in summer. There was no doubt about the origin because they were rainbows. I assume they swam up. They were on the lower half.

Stockers do run up both Slate and Cedar from Pine Creek in the summer.

But, is anyone stocking trout directly into Slate Run? And if so, who?

they run up and not just in summer, fish move all the time and some will migrate up other streams to find their own little piece of bottom. this area up here seems to be really prone to fish migrating up and down watersheds.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Further up this thread, posts #21 and 22 seemed to imply that the PFBC was still stocking Slate when this is not the case.
