What types of leader rigs do you use for salmon?

What kind of dropper rigs do you employ?

Thanks in advance, got a trip coming up in 2 weeks to upstate NY.

A 9 fT tapered with 8 to 12 lb Tippett. I fish a sink tip with. 4 ft sinking leader and the 8 to 12 lb Tippett. Sometimes a poly sinking leader in slow sink to fast depending on the water speed. No droppers for me.
Take plenty of eggs in various colors including white.
Where are you headed? GG
Plenty of shot to stay on the bottom.

Ok, thanks. Lake Ontario tribs. Looking forward to it. Have been to Salmon river in August as a recon mission 3-4 years ago. Looking forward to the salmon- be the first time I specifically am targeting them. I would be happy w a big brown as well. Haha.

I will be up this weekend. I will shoot you a message when I get back if you would like an honest report. I fish a lot of the smaller tribs.

Good luck up there. Hope it continues to rain.

You may also have to put on some weighted shots on your tippet line to get your presentation into the strike zone. I make my own leaders and tippets. my tippets are vanish 8lb test.

I have seen some use cigarette butts and catch salmon.

Vanish is terrible. It breaks very easily in cold water. I learned my lesson the hard way with that cheap crap.
