Me too. I fish the longest rod I can get away with on a given stream for the reasons stated above by GW.

Same here. I have a 4 wt 7.5 foot, 8wt 9ft, and a 5wt 11 foot switch. Any time I am on a decent sized creek I take the switch rod. It will throw a # 4 streamer 75 foot and I can control the line and mend it really well from a long distance. Plus the advantage of using spey casts w a longer rod makes back cast room not an issue in most cases.
