So I would describe myself as “wide X huge” at 6’4” and 350 lbs with size 14 feets. Like I said, “baby sasquatch”…… so anyway, looking for real world wader suggestions from fellow squatches cuz we all know that there ain’t’t much made to fit us and a whole lot less that is actually worth the price tag.

Dear hockeyref,

I do believe we might be twin sons of different mothers! 😉

I bought a pair of Caddis breathable waders from Amazon that I can literally swim in. Check their sizing, I'm sure they have something suitable. I think I paid $ 99.00 for mine and they are either 2XL or 3XL stout.

This winter I bought a pair of waist high waders from Paramount Outdoors because I generally don't need chest waders. Those are XXXL and again fit with ample room.

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

A couple xx’s and stout always help. Too big of waders is good and then you are just like 99 % of everyone else. Never settle for tight waders. I like things big and roomy.

I’m trying to leave a fishing trip when I’m hungry, not leave when I’m uncomfortable.

I agree. Not that I'm a big/heavy person, but at 6' tall, I have long legs. I bought the Orvis Ultralight Convertable waders, which I love. However, the "M regular" waders didn't allow me free, unrestrained movement while going over large rocks and deadfalls along my streams. So, I had to return them and get the "M long", which give me the extra range of movement I need.

I'm 6'4" and size 13 or 14 depending on brand. I'm currently 245 but peaked at 305 in high school. The waders that worked well for me then were Cabela's 2XL stouts. I don't know if there are any waders still branded "Cabela's" but it may be worth looking into White River offerings. The stout versions were very roomy.

I have Paramounts in XL. I think you'd probably want 3XL from them.

I've mostly worn Orvis waders for the last 15 years. That is largely because of the "long" versions that are available and getting good deals on their discontinued lines. I don't think they offer long above XL, though.

I’m not either. I’m 6’1’ 250. But I’ve been this big since 6th grade. So I was constantly in waders that were too small. I started getting xx’s and or stouts at an early age and never went back.

I require air flow

While I don't wear waders very often, when I fished the Letort with regularity I discovered the benefits & comfort of roomy waders when sitting, squatting, crouching or crawling along the banks for hours on end...

I have a special pair of "short/stout" waders I bought from Cabela's just for that stream...

Unfortunately, I've noticed even stocking foot hippers that I wear on occasion have got narrower, especially below the knee...

I guess it's the hipster "skinny jeans" look...
