Top 10 Trout Streams in PA (only name brands)

It takes 10 minutes to renew your drivers license but you have to wait 2 hrs until it's your turn. So obviously I killed much of that time on here and now I blame this thread for the rolls, cuts, cheese, sun dried tomatoes and cannolli I got at Delallo's on the way home.

Hard to drive past there and not stop.

Here's another two I do. FWIW - I like mayo with my beef sandwiches and have even been known to get mayo on a cheesesteak:

Cold meatloaf sandwich with mayo and cheese.

A halupkie sandwich made wit a-coupla (as they say in the Skook) leftover cold halupkie cut into slices with mayo and cheese if you wish.
I like mayo on a cheesesteak sometimes. One newer place in Maple Glen (by Ambler), Verona Pizza, offers their cheesesteak with Duke’s mayo if you want it. Super good. Definitely in my top 3 cheesesteaks.

I don’t do it in Philly proper, but in Central PA, you see “garden” or “hoagie” style cheesesteaks on the menu fairly frequently. Basically your standard cheesesteak, but add LTO. I get mayo on those, and it’s great.

I just love to see it called “cuts”. Annoys the snot out of my Philly buddies when I use that term. Which makes it even better.

Pepperoni rolls! WV’s best food contribution to the world. And my all time favorite fishing lunch.

The best are found in Fairmont, WV, but The Pie Shoppe in Laughlintown has to be high in the running for best in PA.

I found a pretty good dough recipe and make them homemade at home too. Sometimes I put Cooper cheese in them.

I like Martin's plains. They are good. We have so many good chips and pretzels in PA.
Dear jifigz,

Which Martin's? There are a couple of them who make chips!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

These ones are up there. Honestly my wife makes the best pepperoni rolls I have ever had. And I am being serious, she doesn't read the forum 🤣

If we’re ever at the same PAFF function at the same time, I will be happy to sample and provide feedback. 😜

I believe you though. Homemade are the best.

There’s a pizza place by me that does a really good boli, and puts a ton of toppings in. Sometimes if I’m lazy and have a multi-day fishing trip coming up, I’ll order a boli from them with double pepperoni and cut it up into 4 pieces or so for lunches on the stream. Sometimes I’ll even take my BPing stove and small aluminum fry pan to heat it up.

A lot of my judgment comes from how good they taste even after they aren't fresh. Her's don't get dried out after sitting for a couple days. I think she uses the canned pillsbury biscuit dough and doesn't over do the amount of dough.

Yeah. They’re best right out of the oven obviously, and when I make them I always eat one right when they’re done. But, mine keep decent for 3 or 4 days or so. Any longer than that and I freeze them. They freeze really well, can’t even tell if you let them thaw slowly on the counter (not in microwave).

A batch of my recipe yields 7 or 8 decent sized ones. Think like the size of a big baking potato. I’ll eat one right when they come out, and keep another 2 or 3 out to eat fresh, then usually freeze about 4.

Been out of pocket for a few hours, here goes….

No sauce on my steak, grated horseradish only. I do make a good one in my iron skillet topped with onions, mushrooms, and blue cheese

Yes to ketchup glaze on meatloaf. My wife even uses it for turkey meatloaf.

Made a crock pot of turkey chili today for Sunday. Had to field test it with a couple chili dogs 1st.
