Sounds legit. "Branches" are very common, especially in northern PA. Hollows are pretty common, too, but that draft. I'm going to have to drive in the direction of drafts this year to fish.Looking through my 2010 copy of Class A Wild Trout Waters, which is obviously dated, there were 10 stream names that end with Branch, and interestingly, only 2 that end in Brook. As you'd assume, there were a LOT of Hollows, and Runs. I'm sure this has changed at least slightly by now.
There are a few drafts around the area where my camp is, which is in the area mentioned by Swattie. The ones I know of are mostly trickles.Sounds legit. Correct. I was surprised the number was so high2012 it was 54,552..
"Branches" are very common when used for instance like, West Branch Perkiomen Creek, North Branch Buffalow Creek, or East Branch Hyner Run, but just ten creeks use "Branch" in the stream name proper, such as Nelson Branch, or Shingle Branch, ect. Intereseting stuff.Sounds legit. "Branches" are very common, especially in northern PA. Hollows are pretty common, too, but that draft. There are some in the Shenandoah’s, but outside of the Quehanna Area, I don’t recall seeing any others in PA.From what i recall from driving down wykoff run while working for the pfbc.theres a laurel draft. That runs into wykoff run never saw the word draft on a sign before...and havent seen draft since anywhere in pa but that area!!!
I too enjoy some good drafts at camp, unfortunately it’s usually bottles and cans for usThere are a few drafts around the area where my camp is, which is in the area mentioned by Swattie. The ones I know of are mostly trickles.
I didn't read a single post that suggested anybody was "mad" about TTC's thread. Maybe not enthusiastic, but certainly not mad.I am not sure how we went from getting mad about TTC asking about our top 10 trout name brand trout streams
If I'm the culprit, sorry you're dissapointed. Maybe it's one of those threads where one is just better off moving on from, instead of complaining about it? It wouldn't be the first time a thread got slightly sidetracked, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last....to naming places I would rather not see named here in the same thread, but it would be great if we could stop.
It wasn't you. Regardless, there has been a longstanding tradition of not naming streams here that are unpressured fisheries. You have been around long enough to know that.I didn't read a single post that suggested anybody was "mad" about TTC's thread. Maybe not enthusiastic, but certainly not mad.

Im sure it was me sorry didnt want ruffle feathers wasnt my intent...It wasn't you. Regardless, there has been a longstanding tradition of not naming streams here that are unpressured fisheries. You have been around long enough to know that.
I'm very aware of that long-standing tradition and I do my best to adhere to it, but there will be occasions when a particular stream gets mentioned to someone's displeasure. It's not a regular, ongoing issue here, so I wouldn't let it bother too much. Life's too short. 😉It wasn't you. only one way to find out! although.. if the way I'm implying is the only way to find out, then I'd have to call BS on many streams listed as "natural reproduction"It amazes me that there are 54,552 unnamed streams in Pennsylvania. That's a crazy high number. I'm guessing most of them are very small trickles with no trout populations.
I'd much prefer to use my time more wisely, by fishing streams that have proven themselves worthy of the attention and time I give them. At 67, my exploring days are pretty much over. 😉only one way to find out! although.. if the way I'm implying is the only way to find out, then I'd have to call BS on many streams listed as "natural reproduction"
For perhaps the 10 millionth time-All this jabber about spot burning yet there are well known personalities that wrote books with maps detailing where when and how to fish many rivers and streams here in the commonwealth.
If someone says Oh, the Delaware R. West Branch, Fishing Crk, or Spring Ck are great places to fish, they are not divulging the nuclear codes.
How dare the common man set foot on such a holy place as the Coburn Access Area. For perhaps the 10 millionth time-
The problem isn’t when info appears in print, it’s when it gets platformed somewhere like YT and suddenly people who aren’t even searching for it get targeted with “huge fish on Penns creek” videos.
Millions more people are going to see that than Dwight Landis’ out of print trout stream book. And anyways reading books is already a far less lazy way to learn about something than scrolling. You either need to buy the book, go to the library, or otherwise invest some energy to get information. But I also don’t care about Penns being on FAOL’s “great rivers” section, I care about some InFlUeNcEr making YouTube/IG/Tikkity tok videos and the algorithm showing them to the unwashed masses.
If you wanna share the Coburn access lot with a million more Tacomas that’s your choice, but I’m out on that noise
