Top 10 Trout Streams in PA (only name brands)

Gulden's spicy brown and forget about it.
Nah. I'm with Swattie on this one. I'm a man of many mustards. I like a lot of them, and I move around depending on what mood I'm in.

With that said, I like Gulden's Spicy Brown. Coleman's is better, though. But I love Dijon and plain yellow, too.

I don't like sweet mustard either.

Just about any mustard except yellow French's style with a marked preference to Maille or Edmond Fallot Dijon and Dusseldorf style like Alstertor & Lowensenf Extra.

I like Coleman's too and have even made my own from the Colman's powder which has way more kick than the prepared stuff.

Edmond Fallot Dijon
Could not agree more on this one. Love this stuff. Cousin brought a jar to family vacation last summer and I was blown away by it. Absolutely awesome, especially w/a fruit and cheese tray. I immediately ordered a jar on-line (surprisingly, quite inexpensive). Better than Colemans in my opinion.

Well Coleman's is a completely different style of mustard so it is an apples to oranges thing...

The Maille Dijon, also from France is very, very good too and you can find it just about anywhere including Walmart.

BTW - If you like dill pickles, Maille offers what they call "Maille Original Cornichons Gherkins" which are little dill gherkins in a jar with with pearl onions in a brine that includes mustard & coriander seed and other spices.

They are super crunchy and delicious, not as easy to find but places like Weis, Wegman's and I believe Giant sell them.

I put them in my Martini's along with olives

If I neglected to mention one of my favorite trout streams, err, treats, shame on me... 😉

Oysters on the half shell with c0cktail or mignonette sauce!!

In these months without R's I'm shucking oysters as often as I can, sometimes several days in a row I'll eat a dozen for dinner.

Luckily I can get some of my favorites like Wellfleet, Chappell Creek and Standish Shore at my local Wegman's. I also will do a runs to Ludwig's Grill & Oyster Bar in Glenmoore, PA that has a great selection along with other good stuff.

If you like raw oysters and ever fish the FFO stretch at French Creek or the lakes at French Creek State Park, have lunch or dinner at Ludwig's. 🙂

Dear troutbert,

I had tacos de lengua many years ago in a Mexican restaurant in Phoenix AZ. I kind of ordered them on a dare but found out I really liked them. I also had menudo which was my only experience with tripe. That was good too, but I'm kind of a hog. 😉

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂
I’m blessed that there’s an excellent taco place near us that has tongue as a meat option for everything they make:: tacos, burritos, etc. I had it often as a kid but haven’t seen it for ages.

If you are a mustard lover (and everybody should be..), you owe yourself a trip to the National Mustard Museum in Middleton, WI, just outside Madison.

If you go, be sure to make time to also visit their educational division, Poupon U., located right next to the museum.
