Top 10 Trout Streams in PA (only name brands)

I like all cheeses - every single one of them, but those of you denying Cooper’s place among the legit cheese are fools. It is THE BEST cheese for cheese steaks, omelettes, grilled cheeses, and melted on burgers. Yes, I love other cheeses in those applications, too, but the way Cooper tastes when melted is amazing.

Also, adding Cooper to mac and cheese alongside cheddar is the best. I think someone shared a recipe like that above. Also, I made a potato dish called heart-attack potatoes that I put an entire pound of Cooper in and it’s nothing short of heavenly.
Dear jifigz,

If you make egg McMuffins or egg and cheese sandwiches with any kind of breakfast meat, try them with Cooper Cheese.

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

Not a big fan of American but will agree, LOL is the best of the worst. I would adamantly refuse to eat Kraft singles, velveeta or God forbid Cheez whiz (aerosol cheese???)
As for favorites, I'd go with a extra sharp imported provolone, Feta, or bleu cheese

Boars head American cheese is hands down the best one. Land o lakes and all others pale in comparison to BH. I wont even really eat american cheese that isnt BH anymore

Maybe we need a Top 10 or Favorite Cheeses Thread but I think we already have one... 😉

As someone who has eaten Limburger, I probably can say I never met a cheese I didn't like although I'll pass on plastic covered individual slices, Velveeta or anything else with bogus coloring or $#!+ in can, metal or cardboard.

I am particularly fond of blue cheeses like Roquefort, Stilton and Gorgonzola and Feta because I grew up on the stuff. If a particular cheese originated in a particular country and has a P.DO. (Protected Designation of Origin), that's what I buy, not the knock-offs.

BTW - Cooper is A-OK by me... Excluding Finlandia Swiss, it's the only square cheese I'll buy for sandwhiches.

Regarding Feta which is always in my fridge - It is a P.DO. cheese in most of the EU. That means if it comes from Greece, it is labeled "Feta," from Bulgaria "Beta" and Feta from France is labeled "French Feta."

If you want the real deal, the stuff Wegman's sells in brine labeled "Greek Feta" P.D.O. Cheese is Dodoni from Greece and one of the most popular brands. The stuff in brine they sell labeled "French Feta" is Valbreso from France.

Don't waste your time with the crumbled crap in most supermarkets...

I won't deliberately buy anything labeled as American "cheese food." All that means is that it contains some cheese along with other things lie hydrogenated vegetable oil. If I did, my wife would kick my Muenster.

There, I said it.

Challenge accepted. I have never tried it, i really wasnt sure what it was. I didnt think it was american cheese because people always referred to it as cooper sharp

Yeah. It’s more American than it’s not, but the flavor profile is different. Salty and melty like an American, but with a bite. Along the lines of a mild to medium cheddar in terms of the bite. Which is far sharper than any other American cheese I’ve had.

It’s middle of the road enough that people who like normal American cheese aren’t offended by it, but definitely way more flavor.

The Boar's Head stuff is very good and made from cheddar so it has that slight tang that separates it and Cooper form the garden variety American Cheese.

BTW - If you want a pork roll, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich on a kaiser roll, you want Cooper or Boar's Head and Taylor Pork Roll.

Pork roll thread anyone...?

Love a good pork roll and Cooper sandwich. Sometimes I don’t even put an egg on it. I like and will eat all pork roll, but Taylor isn’t my favorite brand if I’m the one buying. I like the ones with a little less of that vinegar profile in the flavor.

Best I ever tasted was the homemade stuff from Shady Maple. If I’m by there I’ll buy 3 or 4 packs and freeze it.

Pork roll is so good you can just eat it on toast with yellow mustard in a pinch!

Take a Kraft single, remove it from the wrapper, take it out to your backyard and place it on the ground. Now walk 30-40 feet away, take your fly rod and try and place a fly on the slice. Keep working at it until you hit it 4 out of 10 tries. Then keep practicing until you get 7 out of 10.

When do you get to eat the cheese (product)?

Spam, egg over-hard, melted cooper,

Will my skills still progress the same if I use a piece of cooper instead?
