Tippet Ring

the area of the rings are greater than their weight, so i find they float in the film with a dry or unweighted nymph.

From the video, a single strand/size tippet is tied to the ring. Wouldn't a stepped tippet, 9" of 5x + 9' OF 6x perform better. Or does this defeat the purpose of a ring.

A doll yes but, not a living doll.

i have the 3mm RC and they are plenty small enough when you're on stream.

i do need to get a safety pin to keep them on and tye them on before i release the pin i think.

The rings I got were already on a snap. Now, talk about being stupid. When I first got the pack of rings I found it impossible, while sitting at my desk, to tie on my leader. On top of that, I lost quite a few rings on the carpeting. I came back here and then read you should tie the ring while it's still on snap. Duh.

They are painful. But helpful. I prefer the light-weight plastic in the smallest size available. I am serious.

I wouldn't trust plastic over silver.

I attach mine at the end of the tapered 5x leader - as I still want the cast to be controlled open and soft with the rig.
