The last time you got skunked

I can't remember the last time I was skunked fishing for trout; which only means I'm not fishing enough, or difficult enough waters. Or maybe my 64 year old brain is developing selective memory.

I'm not a very good fisherman. I've only been out a few times this year. I haven't been skunked in 2017, but had at least 1 - 1 fish day. My last skunking was last October on Spring Creek, mostly due to the fact I forgot to bring my clamp on specs and could not see well enough to tie on the flies and repair my tippet. I confess I do usually get skunked several times per year and have no excuses like: "I chuck big flies hoping to catch a whale." Sometimes I just suck at fishing.

My last goose egg was on June 6th, courtesy of a 2 hour outing on slate run. Decent amount of insects but a heavy flow. I also had 3 fishless days in April when water temps were in the high 30s.

This past weekend, up in NCPA. Conditions weren't good for trout fishing.
