Susky & Tribs above Liverpool for Smallies?

I'm looking for good wade fishing for smallmouth on the Susky and WB near Shamokin/Lewisburg/Milton/Williamsport. The closest I've found is those rock gardens around Liverpool- I'm looking for someplace closer to Lewisburg or Milton. The river seems to be flat and slow-moving up there, and mostly too deep to wade unless the water gets really low. I'm also mostly seeing mud and sand bottom, although there are a lot of weedbeds in some places. I've spotted some big carp, but only one or two bass. Any rock gardens or other prime habitat around there?

Any help would be appreciated- also looking for good wading access for smallies on tribs like lower Penn's Creek and Pine Creek.
