Scud pattern

I tie to please the fish.....my box a fur 'n feathers ain't pretty but they catch fish.

If I tie a fly that takes 15 minutes it better have a happy ending.....

Living in the western part of the state you don't get to fish many scuds/sow bugs what I do is I wieght the hook smash the weight flat then dub using a mix of hares mask tan and a toch of grey dubbins. Tan thread. And swiss straw to match but leave w lil threads for feelers over tbhe hook eye worked on spring creek

I've never much valued the "good enough for the fish" version of fly tying. I've built rods, dyed feathers, tied and furled leaders... I love to catch fish, but heck there are easier ways to catch a fish. I do all these things for myself and love the challenge. The mere fact that many of us practice catch and release proves that it is not just for the fish.
