Thanks for the prompt reply. I searched the topic and made an impulsive buy.

If the distributor won't ship them, can your in-laws? There are a lot of products with blades that come from Europe to the US.They don't ship outside the UK so they're currently waiting for me at my inlaws' in southern England.
They look very similar to shears I've seen fromI've been using premax embrodery scissors for a couple of years now and don't see myself moving off of that decision.
I have seen these re-branded under a bunch of different names. They look very similar to shears I've seen from Snofro...
Oh man I had no idea. These are my go to scissors and I was just thinking about getting a new pair as mine are getting a little worn out. Bummer.I got a couple of inexpensive tying scissors when I first started. I used those for a few years before upgrading to Anvil Midge scissors sometime around y2k. I really like those scissors.
The pivot point is getting a little loose on them so I looked for a replacement only to find they are no longer made. After quite a bit I searching, I found a Scottish shop that still had some in stock. They don't ship outside the UK so they're currently waiting for me at my inlaws' in southern England.
Anyway, if anyone knows of a similar product with open loops and around 3-1/4" in length, I'd be interested in hearing about them. We never check bags and, while my wife seems to be able to take nail scissors in her carry on, I'm not convinced my Anvils will make it through security. I know Dr. Slick makes something that looks similar in 4" but I really like the shorter scissors.
