Thanks for the prompt reply. I searched the topic and made an impulsive buy.

I use these with no issues. I have older, different pairs I make a point of using on tougher materials.

Since you asked, I was on a fly tying zoom call with some renowned tiers and they mentioned the scissors below. I ordered 3 of them and I LOVE them.

I got a couple of inexpensive tying scissors when I first started. I used those for a few years before upgrading to Anvil Midge scissors sometime around y2k. I really like those scissors.

The pivot point is getting a little loose on them so I looked for a replacement only to find they are no longer made. After quite a bit I searching, I found a Scottish shop that still had some in stock. They don't ship outside the UK so they're currently waiting for me at my inlaws' in southern England.

Anyway, if anyone knows of a similar product with open loops and around 3-1/4" in length, I'd be interested in hearing about them. We never check bags and, while my wife seems to be able to take nail scissors in her carry on, I'm not convinced my Anvils will make it through security. I know Dr. Slick makes something that looks similar in 4" but I really like the shorter scissors.

Yes, they could ship them. International shipping has gotten a little crazy though. Mine are still working so it isn't a rush. My inlaws usually check bags. I imagine they'll be back in the fall so I may wait until then.
