Poe Valley and Poe Paddy State Parks both have camp sites available for those dates. Looking at the forecast for next weekend, it still looks pretty comfortable for tent camping. It doesn’t get much cheaper than that.I was looking for suggestions on affordable places to stay near Penns the weekend of November 9th. I'm finding it difficult due to the PSU game. Any help is appreciated!!!!!!
Yes, if your goal is just fishing, the cabins are more than adequate. Seven mountains and Hemlock acres are both close. There may be others.Rentals around State College are generally tough to come by on PSU home weekends. Probably exacerbated this year with them doing so well thus far.
We have a cabin we like in Pleasant Gap that we rent for our Spring fishing trip when Central PA gets the nod as the location. It’s generally pretty easy to book it in the Spring, but it’s always booked solid in the Fall, especially on PSU home weekends.
You’re probably looking at pretty limited options within an hour of State College at this point.
If fishing Penns is your top priority, I’d agree that camping at Poe Paddy or Poe Valley are likely your best options at this point. You can try Seven Mountains CG…Private CG at the top of the mountain on 322. Maybe a 25 minute drive into Poe Paddy. They have cabins of varying levels of accommodations/prices, but they tend to book up on PSU home weekends. Worth a try though.
Focus your search on Mifflinburg/Lewisburg area. There are plenty of hotels with vacancies on Expedia.com.I was looking for suggestions on affordable places to stay near Penns the weekend of November 9th. I'm finding it difficult due to the PSU game. Any help is appreciated!!!!!!

I've actually stayed here before. Art is a great guy and a great host, plus it is in a great location and more than comfortable for a weekends stay.A friend owns this rental, it is in the village of Weikert.
I lay the seats down in my forester and my 30 degree kuiu bag makes it possible to car camp from March to basically mid Decemberthis is my style of fishing overnight. good ol tent with a zero degree sleeping bag and your good to go. closer to nature also. and like you said, ITS CHEAP. just need to add a campfire
