Parasol Flies

I have bought a few parasol nymph and emerger flies recently and I was wondering how to use them? Are they supposed to be fished with the parasol acting as a float?

Has anyone had any success with these types of flies?

I have never used them, but the answer is that they are intended to be fished with the parachute portion floating and the nymph/pupa just under the surface. Unless the parachute is CDC, put floatant on it but NOT on the fly and toss it out into the water. It looked like a clever idea, but I had my doubts about its effectiveness. Let us know if it meets with success.
