That statement is 100% correct since all true steelhead (born in fresh water and living in salt water for a period of some years before returning to fresh water) However there is at least one Erie stream in NYS that has at least 30% wild steelhead.

Yes there is and hopefully it gets better when they complete work at the dam. That river system has a very good fishery.
